COVID 19 update

As a result of the Corona Virus Pandemic we have reluctantly decided, following advice, to suspend all services of public worship and activities held at St Cuthbert’s Church, Blaydon and Holy Trinity Church, Swalwell.

Please be assured our ministry of prayer for our community continues and as we adjust to new ways of being church along we have with others developed some ideas which we hope may help and remember Church isn’t a building, it’s the people.

  1. Here is a prayer that I encourage us all to pray each morning at 8.30am or at 7.00pm as you are able, as through shared prayer we are the church.
    1. Keep us, good Lord,
      under the shadow of your mercy.
      Sustain and support the anxious,
      be with those who care for the sick,
      and lift up all who are brought low;
      that we may find comfort
      knowing that nothing can separate us from your love
      in Christ Jesus our Lord. AMEN
  • Some people will find it hard to prayer and so we have produced a ‘Parish Prayer Book ’, which includes prayers for a range of situations we hope this will be helpful .
  • I suggest where it is safe to do so we all put a candle in our window each Sunday evening at 7.00pm in solidarity with one another and Christians elsewhere.

We are in a situation of unprecedented change, and we will continue to communicate through Facebook and this website.

Please contact us if you want us to pray for you or someone you know, or to ask for help, or even for a chat.
